Windows and Trees
I ran across tree.fm🌳🔈 this week, which is a site that gives you random forest sounds from around the world recorded and submitted by users. It reminded me very much of WindowSwap, which I first saw last year. That site offers prerecorded sights and sounds from people’s windows all around the world served up randomly. Both sites appeal to me because they do something that is increasingly rare on the web these days: they make the world feel smaller, closer, and more inviting just for the sake of doing so. It also doesn’t hurt that both sites bring you a little peace.
